There is a poem from Robert Fulghum, "All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten," that may give you a new way of looking at what we learn and what is really important. Every time I read it I gain a new insight. Here it is:
Most of what I really need to know about how to live and what to do and how to be I learned in kindergarten. Wisdom was not at the top of the graduate school mountain, but there in the sand pile at school. These are the things I learned:
Share everything.
Play fair.
Don't hit people.
Put things back where you found them.
Clean up your own mess.
Don't take things that aren't yours.
Say you're sorry when you hurt somebody.
Wash your hands before you eat.
Flush.
Warm cookies and cold milk are good for you.
Live a balanced life - learn some and think some and draw and paint and sing and dance and play and work every day some.
Take a nap every afternoon.
When you go out in the world, watch out for traffic, hold hands and stick together.
Be aware of wonder. Remember the little seed in the Styrofoam cup: the roots go down and the plant goes up and nobody really knows how or why, but we are all like that.
Goldfish and hamsters and white mice and even the little seed in the Styrofoam cup - they all die. So do we.
And then remember the Dick-and-Jane books and the first word you learned - the biggest word of all - LOOK.
Everything you need to know is in there somewhere. The Golden Rule and love and basic sanitation. Ecology and politics and equality and sane living.
Take any one of those items and extrapolate it into sophisticated adult terms and apply it to your family life or your work or government or your world and it holds true and clear and firm. Think what a better world it would be if we all - the whole world - had cookies and milk at about 3 o'clock in the afternoon and then lay down with our blankies for a nap. Or if all governments had as a basic policy to always put things back where they found them and to clean up their own mess.
And it is still true, no matter how old you are, when you go out in the world, it is best to hold hands and stick together.

Polar Shift & Pole Reversal in 2012
In 2012 the next polar reversal will take place on earth. This means that the North Pole will be changed into the South Pole. Scientifically this can only be explained by the fact that the earth will start rotating in the opposite direction, together with a huge disaster of unknown proportions.
It is presently assumed by most people and the general scientific world at large, that the rotation of the Earth is stable, however, as expounded in previous posts on this subject, this is not the case. The gruesome reports of the previous catastrophes should, hopefully, be clear to all.
The historical exploration of cosmology is founded on the translation of hieroglyphs, cracking of codes, unveiling of the magnetic reversal of the sun, study of old maps, decoding of astronomical clues, geological research, and the discovery of the most exciting archaeological find in modern times. Considering these one can come to the following conclusions:
1. With clock-like regularity, sudden reversals and pole shifts are natural to the Earth. The result is worldwide destruction, and is supported by paleo-magnetic evidence and early manuscripts. 2. The reversal of the poles is attributed to the harmonic cycle of the magnetic fields of the sun. 3. Polar reversals can be calculated precisely on the basis of the sunspot cycle theory or the magnetic field theory, which the Maya and the Old Egyptians were privy to. These secrets are contained in the Labyrinth of Hawara, a huge complex consisting of three thousand rooms.
I explained abundantly clearly that life after a polar reversal is nothing but horror, pure unimaginable horror. All securities you presently have at hand, like - amongst others - food, transport, and medicines, will have disappeared in one big blow, dissolved into nothingness. As will our complete civilization. It cannot be more horrifying than this; worse than the worst nightmare. More destructive than a nuclear war in which the entire global arsenal of nuclear weapons has been deployed in one blow. Are you grasping the facts?
The earth will be subjected to total destruction. It will be many times worse than my description. Terrible hunger, cold and pain, and more will rule your daily life: without hope of a quick recovery, because all knowledge and resources will have been completely destroyed. That will be the reality of your daily life after the forthcoming polar reversal. And it is in this scenario you will have to try to survive. The Riddle of the Magnetic Field Solved
At present scientists still do not know much about the mechanism that generates the magnetic field of the earth, which is more than frightening. Without doubt, our continued existence depends upon this. Thousands of years ago our ancestors knew that when this magnetic field tilts, a worldwide destruction takes place. The present geologists, astronomers and physicists know little about this. For that reason we are running towards our end, without a single acknowledgement from official sources.
So, what do our professors indeed know? Next to nothing. In short, the scenario is as follows: a solid central core rotates in the center of the earth. It is surrounded by a liquid iron-like layer, on top of which the earth's crust is continuously drifting. This whole structure therefore appears to be a huge rotating dynamo. In addition, the liquid layer rotates in the electrostatic field of the sun, recharging itself.
However, this is not at all efficient: more electrical potential is lost than gained. Just like a battery that is almost empty, it is difficult to recharge and it becomes exhausted more easily and quickly. This is the situation with the "battery" of the magnetic field of the earth. For this reason one sees the force of the magnetic field diminishing, almost 60% over the last two thousand years.
And then one can expect a reversal of the poles. But nobody knows in what way this will happen, nor what the consequences will be, in contrast to the Maya and the Old Egyptians who knew the terrible consequences only too well. Their science, their religion and way of life were completely based on them. They encoded their knowledge in Holy Numbers and in their architecture.
There are codes connected with the catastrophic events on earth that will be caused by pole shifts. Some of the codes were terribly complicated and many are still not fully understood. They are hidden in all three of the "Great books of religion". The thought was that even if one religion wipes out all traces of the other two main religions, that one book would still posses the hidden message.
There are many questions that arise when thinking about this event, besides the most obvious one..."Will" and "can" this really happen? What will that moment be like? Will we have any sign or warning before? What will the world look like after? Will it wipe out all life? If not, what must someone do to increase their chances of surviving and most important would you really want to survive it?
These Questions and more will be asked with greater frequency as we get closer to December 12 2012.

I posted this over a year ago but, thanks to Whit's Whittlings most recent post and last nights space shuttle lift off, I thought it was worth reposting................
"The great beauties of our world" by Joram Nov. 2007
He among you, that has not traveled this grand and beautiful world, cannot fully appreciate life, or truly appreciate what you have, untill you have seen in person those that have not. To witness a sunrise, on Aluroo(AYRES ROCK), in the Outback or hear the night come alive in the Amazon. To view the great glaciers in Patagonia and Alaska or marvel at the Aurora Bore Elias(northern lights)in the Arctic. To sip tea on the Yangtze and sail into Shag-hi. To raft rivers gorged into the earth, or simultaniuosly feel and see the rumble of a shuttle launch. To peer over the edge of the Cliffs Of Moy-er or stand and ponder at and wonders of Stonehenge. To gorge your senses and soak up life on Greek isles, or to camp in the wilderness and sleep under the heaven's. To kayak with Orcas in the Tasman Sea or cris-cross America by car. To walk in Darwins footprints and meet Lonesome George in the Galopagos. I've been surrounded by children and swallowed up by their laughter. I've been there when they've fallen to wipe their tears, sat and listend while they told me their fears. I have lived well and loved often. I've experienced the high life; The QE2 to England and the Concord home. I've lived in the fast lane-driven a Nascar around a track and raced a dirt bike up and back. I've jumped from airplanes that were perfectly good and gotten closer to a Polar bear than anyone should. You haven't lived until you have stepped outside your comfort zone and taken risks. They say life is a journey, not a destination but, it's only the destinations that allows you to view your own world and appreciate it. Joram Feb. 2007
Deserata -A poem by Max Ehrmann
I have had this poem in some written form in my life since my second year of college (1980) and often go long periods without reading it. But, when I do dig it out from where ever it has settled, it only takes the first few words to remind me why I have saved it.........
Go placidly amid the noise and haste, and remember what peace there is in silence. As far as possible, without suurendering, be on good terms with all persons, speak your truth quietly; and listen to others, even the dull and ignorant; they too have their story. Avoid loud and aggressive persons, they are vexious to the spirt. If you compare yourself to others, you may become vain and bitter, for always there will be greater and lessor persons than yourself. Enjoy your achievements, as well as your plans. Keep intrest in your own career, however humble, it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time. Exercise caution in your business affairs, for the world is full of trickery. But, let this not blind you, to what vertue there is. Many people strive for high ideals, and everywhere life is full of heroism . Be yourself, especially do not feign affection, nor be cycnical about love. For in the face of all its aridity and dienchantment it is as perennial as the grass. Take kindly to the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth. Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. Do not distress yourself with dark imaginigs, many fears are born of fatique and lonliness. Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle to yourself. You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and stars and time; you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should. There for be at peace with God, whatever you concieve that to be. And whatever your labors and aspiritions, in the noisy confussion of life, keep peace with your soul. With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world, strive to be happy.

I was thinking about anger and how much harm it causes in our world.
Anger (an'ger)n. hostile feeling; wrath- v. make angry. So much about anger intrigues me. Why, do we get angry? What benifit is to us to release built-up anger.
So much of it is misdirected. We may get angry at one person only because we harbour anger for something or someone else. There are many reasons why someone would be the innocent victim of "Load rage". When we are born we come complete with a sack that is to be carried with you your entire life. When too much of one emotion builds up in the sack you begin to overflow with that emotion. All too often it manifests into a fit of rage.
We begin to fill that sack with all types of emotions. Emotions that we are not born with. We are however born with capacity for them. The capibility lies dormant waiting for some external stimulas to trigger Springtime. Then it greets the world and begins its growth.
I wondered why men seem to express anger, more time than another, in physical ways? Acting them out. Then came the "illumination"!
The first minute of a males life is all out HELL! First, he is pried, with a vice-grip attached to his head, from a warm and cozy slummber through a hole that is 2 sizes too small. Then grabbed by the feet and held upside down naked in front of a room full of strangers, MOSTLY WOMEN, and slapped on the ass. Like a baby! I speak for all men when I say punch me in the face, kick me in the balls! But! Do not slap me on the bare ass in front of a room full of possible mates!
The next act, and probably the most devistating, is when they take a knife and attack your "Man hood", in front of those same women who do nothing to save you! Heck, you ever notice how they are ALL standing over you smiling from ear to ear during the "amputation"? We then spend the rest of our lives trying to find ways to; "re-attach" that which was STOLEN from us at birth! This is why men buy products named, "Extends" "Elonges" three times more than they do Viagra!
And finally, after all this, you get to settle down and have something warm and refreshing to drink. Only to find out you also just performed your very first sex act........ON YOUR MOTHER!
And humans wonder why men are so violent.............

How do you rank the importance of just one single day, Will it hinge on less of yes and more of nay?
Today, Today, Today is the most relevant some will say. It cast away the doubters in spite of any fear of ending in a fray.
How complex is our system yet so simple and so clever; That we can change the beast with a flick of a lever.
There to ensure an honest count, offcials with a watchful eye, they tally and they tally yet, some will still deny.
Onward lines of people wait, Hour after hour. Weary are the pollsters watching as they enter heavens gate.
Outside the hollowed walls, the parties with their signs they stand, Today, right here, this spot, the most valuable in the land.
Pins and stickers on their chest like badges; Signs in hand they tote. Thinking to exert final will, in hopes to sway the vote.
Tomorrow we wake with no more division, Now stand shoulder to shoulder and hope, we all can live with our decision. (Joram Nov. 4th 2008)
