The Noble prize is awarded annually to a number of individuals, from an array of feilds, who have significately impacted our world. "The Prize", not only comes with a placard and presige but, also a nice liitle ck. This awards program was put into the last will and testement of a man that, one could easily argue, had the biggest(and loudest)impact on mankind both past and present and sadly on into the future. I believe this dying act was an attempt to appease the screaming quilt Gods that must of tormented his mind. You see, Alfred Nobles invention, has capibilities to both excite and eliminate mankind....... TNT. So, Today as we celebrate our Independence as a nation we should look at what role Alfred Noble played and plays in both fighting for our Independence and today celebrating it. FLASH....BOOM! FLASH....BOOM! Flickering lights.....then Rada tat tat. The exilerating commencement of a 4th of July fireworks display or a terrifing volley, confirmation that the enemies have engaged and the battle has begun? Either way, one could say that the theater and the stage have remained the same, But the play you are seeing now, and the act to follow, lying on your blankets, is much more tame. Boston was ground zero for the Revolutionary war. Boston harbour and the River Charles are quite a different today, From those turbulent, dark and bloody times that gave birth to Independence day! The shores of the river were lined that day with soldiers and their weapons. A massive build up Patriots and barrels of Nobels gun powder. Today its a half million spectators on blankets with coolers and thermoses filled with chowder. The sights couldn't be more different. Shores that once were lined with the dead and dying now are filled with Family, freinds and lots of babies crying. The sounds they hear are also vastly different. Today you hear the cheers of the crowds applauding the Boston Pops and a chorous of ooooooooo's and ahhhhhhhhs admiring the pirotectics display of Alfred invention! What was being heard back then I'm sure was hard to stomch. The sound of a soldier begging to die, to ascape the horrid pain in which his body lie. Ows and Os instead of ooos and ahhhs. Moaning and groaning and incoherant babbling...utterings that are common after batttle and much blunt force trauma. What a stark difgference and mix of sound, a young soldier boy tapping on a sole snare drum joins in with another trying in vain to keep tune while playing on a solitary fife. Now you here thunder of massive kettle drums, joined by horns made of brass and the artistry of someone with true command of a Grand... piano. As the symphony comes alive and I look around me and yonder ...I give thanks to those who faught, lived or gave the greatest gift there possibly be. Giving their life so others will have less strife! Here today I sit surrounded by the masses, once again feeling very alone. Together .... but very Independant, Independant together! Lastly, I wonder if my writing would ever be shown, if instead of a keyboard, forced to use ink and a feather? HAPPY INDEPENDENCE FROM ALL THAT BINDS YOU.....SO YOUR LIFE CAN BE FOR YOU MORE TRUE! I also hope that it will also mark a change in what we can be do to ease the impact of the situation mentioned in my blog, because my limited resaerch tells me that we will be unable to prevent it, (as the daily News tells us) it from happening.
I've have had a lung infection, and ten days of antibiotics, but am starting to feel better now. I hope to be able to continue to inform the the English speaking world, of whats happening to the Planetary Environment, etc. in the hope that they will stop ignoring it, and try to help to heal themselves, others and the Planet, before its too late. All the Very Best to You, Your Family and all Bloggers, now and in the Future, Sincerely Mike Tenerife
When the Star no longer sets,
When the sacred Rishis seven
Wheel all night in highest heaven,
When the sky-descending Sea
Waters but a single Tree,
When each Year is but a Day,—
What shall all these portents say?
Can you help me find out who wrote this? It seems to be athe work of a famous scholar I was hoping you would know since I consider you a very learned person.
