If you ever wondered who would stand by you if things get a bit rocky, here is a sure fire way. First, rent as big a yacht as you can afford and invite all your closest friends and family (today that is sometimes one and the same) out for a party. Tell them if they want to bring someone, anyone, all are welcome on my boat. Tell them nothing well be expected of them, other that to eat, drink and enjoy themselves. No need to bring anything their needs will be provided for. If they have a special request no problem.... just please don't hesitate to ask. Now, try and plan a little something special for each and everyone, it doesn't have to be big or expensive it just has to be something that you two share apart from the whole. You understand that you will be the host and they will always be your guests! Now, the test...... The yacht never leaves the port because there is a storm brewing and the last thing you would ever want to do is put any of them in harms way. But there is an incomming SOS and you feel its time to help so you inform everyone that you must go out into the storm and assist those in need of help.... You have all ready informed them of the potential dangers... and the yacht is going to be tossed around a bit so the party will have to end for a little while. Ok, now you will see their true colors.... watch how fast some jump ship and then see who is left. Anyone, can be a friend when the "waters" are calm. A true friend wouldn't jump ship....no, they would stand shoulder to shoulder to help you weather the storm.

I'm not sure if this really happened to you literally or not, but your writing always inspires me with a surprise ending.
True friends do weather the storms with us.
Storms are interesting to watch aren't they!
Peace Joram!
